DIVINE LITURGY FOR THE FULLY VACCINATED - OCTOBER 24
In Quebec, entry to places of worship does not require a vaccination passport. There are parishioners who have not attended services during the pandemic, however may feel more inclined to do so with the assurance that other attendees are fully vaccinated. We are introducing one Sunday, October 24, exclusively for those who possess the vaccination passport. This way we will be able to determine if there is really a need to introduce the passport. We wish to remain inclusive and this is our way of extending Christian charity by opening the doors to those, who have yet to set foot in our temple.
In order to not exceed 75 people (according to Quebec government directives), to attend Sunday Liturgy you are required to preregister by Saturday 12 pm of the week of the Liturgy with Anna Malynowsky (Анна Малиновська) at (514) 232-2818 or firstname.lastname@example.org
Parish Regulations for Attending Church Services during the COVID-19 Pandemic
Preventive measures for safe places of worship – COVID-19
Mesures de prévention pour des lieux de culte sécuritaires – COVID-19
Kindly read the regulations in their entirety to ensure that you clearly understand all the rules and recommendations that you are required to follow while attending Sunday Liturgy. Volunteers will be in the church building during the Sunday Liturgy to assist you and to provide you with instruction.
If you are looking for a way to touch lives with the love and hope of Jesus Christ, consider volunteering. Volunteers are very much needed to keep the church open for Sunday Liturgy. Kindly consider volunteering at least one Sunday in September or October. To volunteer, please contact the volunteer coordinator Oksana Shakhvieliedova (Оксана Шахвєлєдова) (438) 921-1897 (after 5:30 p.m.) or email: email@example.com
If you require further information about attending Sunday Liturgy, please do not hesitate to contact Simon Kouklewsky at (514) 983-3358.
We are streaming our services from YouTube.
CHORAL SINGING & COVID-19
Rehearsals are on Sundays at 9:15 a.m. in the church hall. New members are always welcome. For more information, please contact Helena Waverchuck at (514) 620-9494.
Effective October 8, 2021, choristers may sing, standing a distance of two (2) meters apart. According to the Quebec government, the mask is not compulsory while singing, however due to our own choristers' concerns, the wearing of masks will be required.
Due to the ongoing pandemic and safety concerns, a majority of singers expressed a willingness to sing under the condition that others wear masks and are double vaccinated.
LITURGY IN OTTAWA
Tragedy has befallen the Assumption of the Blessed Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral parish in Ottawa with the sudden falling asleep in the Lord on June 23, 2021 at the age of 51, their beloved pastor Fr Ihor Okhrimtchouk. In their hour of need and with the approval of our parish council (and blessing of Vladyka Andriy) our dean, Fr Volodymyr, has gratefully agreed to travel to Ottawa once a month in order to celebrate a Divine Liturgy. The first Sunday of the month we will introduce a trilingual Divine Liturgy celebrated by a longtime friend of our parish, Fr Steven Bigham. The bilingual Service of the Typika will not be served.
